Job Summary
Jake's Yard Truck Switcher / Yard Jockey is responsible for promptly and accurately moving equipment into and out of docks, fueling all power units and trailers every shift, and the general upkeep of the Distribution Center's truck yard.
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00pm - Finish
- Pay: Hourly
- Class A Learner's Permit is accepted, but must be willing to gain Class A.

Reports To: Director of Transportation
Duties & Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)
- Move equipment into and out of docks as they are loaded or directed by the warehouse or transportation supervisors.
- Check to make sure tractors are hooked to proper trailers.
- Fuel any and all equipment on the yard during the shift.
- Wash out trailers and box trucks and sanitize the units once a week.
- Place additional cases in the correct trailer or box truck when needed.
- Report any equipment or vehicle damage or maintenance needs to the supervisor on duty.
- Work with supervisors to solve and issues with the vehicles or other Distribution Center equipment.
- Ensure the Jake's yard is kept in a clean environment, free of any unsafe items or situations.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures and practices.
- Comply with all Safety policies and procedures.
- Comply with all D.O.T regulations.
- Any other duties assigned by the manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Maintain a valid CDL Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- Experience working with tractors, trailers and box trucks preferred, but basic knowledge expected.
- Ability to drive manual transmission combination vehicles and back combination vehicles into docks.
